One type of mesh, known as the C-QUR hernia mesh, is a polypropylene mesh coated in an Omega 3. It was created to reduce the risk of attachment to the tissue around internal organs and quicken the healing process. However, this mesh caused adverse reactions and did not help surgical patients.
